A surprise 2CV trip around St Emilion was just one of the treats we had in store for this group. It probably was the icing on the cake of an amazing trip, but there were many more highlights. This magical experience started with chauffeur driven cars (with a specially purchased picnic breakfast onboard) from guests homes to the airport. On arrival in Bordeaux the group were transported to the Grand Barrail Hotel in St Emilion. Dinner that night was a private gathering of the group at an amazing Chateau where guests had a private tour from the Sommelier, followed by a tasting and specially prepared menu. The next day was a full (chilly) day in Bordeaux – guests were warmed up with coffee and a canelé (a typical pastry from Bordeaux with an interesting story), followed by cheese and wine tasting. Dessert was a little different however; we surprised guests and took them to a cooking school where they prepared a Tarte Tatin for themselves! The programme also included as you would expect a gastronomic dinner, and the finale in the sunshine was a cruise along the Garonne.
